FAQ

what should i do on the day of my tattoo?

Firstly, try and make sure you’ve had a decent meal before your appointment. Bring some snacks and a water bottle with you as well. Secondly, wear appropriate clothing that allows me access to the area being tattooed while also still feeling comfortable. Thirdly, shave the area that is going to be tattooed the morning of your appointment, if possible.

When will i see my design?

I will draw up your design the evening prior to your appointment. I have a busy schedule so I don’t usually have time to draw any earlier. When you arrive at your appointment, I will show you your design and if it needs any adjustments, I can generally do that on the day of.

What will the cost of my tattoo be?

My hourly rate is $180 and my minimum for anything under an hour is between $120-$150. I am more than willing to work within a budget so if you have one, please mention that to me in the booking form or consult. Keep in mind that placements such as the torso, back, ribs, stomach, neck, knee or elbow take longer to tattoo so please account for this when booking. I also require a $100 non-refundable deposit in order to book your appointment which can be sent via e-transfer after you’ve filled out the booking form.

Can i use numbing cream for my tattoo?

If you are wanting to use numbing cream, please discuss it with me prior to the appointment. Numbing creams can potentially have adverse effects during and after the tattoo process. I do use bactine spray throughout the tattoo which has a slight numbing effect that does help to soothe.

Do you do cover ups?

I am able to do cover ups, however they are not always possible or the best option. It all depends on the size, density and design of the existing tattoo. Generally, the coverup will need to be a fair bit larger and bolder than the original tattoo. In order to achieve a flattering design, there needs to be room to have some negative space within the tattoo. Please keep in mind that with most cover ups, you will likely see some of the existing tattoo underneath. Often, I will suggest that you look into getting a few sessions of laser removal done on the original tattoo before booking in for a cover up.

What is the best way to contact you?

The best way to get in touch with me is through my booking form or by email. Instagram DM’s can get a bit messy so I am not always able to manage those as efficiently.

Can I bring a friend to my appointment?

You’re more than welcome to bring a friend or family member to your appointment for support. However I do ask that you keep in mind that I share a small space with other artists and there is limited seating so please be conscious and respectful of this.

How should i care for my new tattoo?

After we finish your tattoo, I will either wrap it in second skin or a bandage. If I use a bandage, I would advise that you leave it on for a few hours. Before the end of the day, take it off and give it a good wash with warm water and unscented soap. Massage it well until you get all of the black goo off. Pat it dry with a clean, dry towel. If we used second skin, I advise that you leave it on for 3-5 days. It may fill up with fluid and create an “ink sac.” Don’t be alarmed, this is totally normal. It is blood plasma that your body is producing to aid in healing the tattoo. If the seal of the second skin breaks at all, remove immediately and follow aftercare. Once it is time to remove the patch, jump in the shower, pull the skin taught and slowly remove it under the running water. Give it a good wash with some unscented soap. It’s best to wash the tattoo 2x a day until fully healed. You may use a small amount of unscented lotion, tattoo balm or coconut oil if you are experiencing any itchiness. Don’t go overboard on washing/moisturizing as this can strip away the good bacteria and cause complications. Your tattoo will generally take 1-3 week(s) to fully heal. The healing time will depend on the placement of the tattoo, the density, aftercare practice and your immune system. If you are having any complications during the healing process, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me.

How can i pay for my tattoo?

I accept cash or e-transfer (cash is preferred).
